Where the Prolon Fasting Bar fits in my fasting routine
I keep a morning fasting window, and I spend most of my mornings on the move. For years those two things didn't go together very well. This is how I handle my mornings now, and how the Prolon Fasting Bar ended up in my bag.
This is actually the only snack bar I've been reaching for lately, especially on busy days. Most of my days are busy, so I want to explain how that happened.
I don't have time to overthink my mornings
My mornings are getting the kids up, packing lunches, and getting everyone out the door. Somewhere in there I'm supposed to take care of myself too. Between getting home, unpacking lunches, and just everything going on, I don't really have time to overthink what I'm doing for myself.
What I do for myself is keep a morning fasting window. I finish dinner in the evening, and then I let my body rest overnight and into the morning instead of starting the day with something sugary. It's the one part of my wellness routine that has stuck, because it doesn't take any planning or cooking.
The window itself was easy for me. The hard part was getting hungry in the middle of it.
Snack bars kept letting me down
I get hungry in the middle of the morning, usually while I'm out running errands. My old fix was whatever bar was at the checkout counter. Most bars either spike me up and an hour later I'm hungry or they just don't really fit into my wellness goals.
A typical snack bar is food your body fully responds to. It triggers the body's "fed" response. Blood sugar goes up, then comes back down, and an hour later you are hungrier than before.
When that happened during my morning fasting window, the window was over. I was starting my day with the crash I was trying to avoid in the first place.
The bar that was made for the way I fast
Then I found the bar I talk about in my videos now: the Prolon Fasting Bar — it's different. This is not your typical snack bar. It was designed by longevity scientists and uses fasting mimicking technology.
The way Prolon's team explains it is that food triggers the body's "fed" response; the Fasting Bar stays below nutrient-sensing pathways so the body still thinks it's fasting.
For me that means I can eat something real in the middle of my morning fasting window, my blood sugar doesn't spike, and the window keeps going. The bar does have real ingredients and real calories, but is designed to keep my body in a fasting state. That's how I get through the morning without giving up on the window.
This is the bar from my videos. Three flavors and a variety pack, shipped in 2 business days.

They come individually wrapped, twelve to a box, so I keep one in my bag, one in the car, and the rest in the pantry. Most often I eat one mid-morning during my fasting window, whether I'm out running errands or sitting in the carpool line.
It tastes like a treat
If a bar doesn't taste good, I stop eating it no matter how healthy it is. And honestly, Fasting Bars taste so good. I love that the Chocolate Chip one has real chocolate in it so it feels like a treat and not something that's restrictive.
It comes in three flavors, Chocolate Chip, Coconut Macadamia, and Nuts and Honey, plus a Variety Pack if you want to try all three. And I'm not the only one eating them. My husband can't stop eating them either, even though he doesn't follow a fasting routine.
He just likes them, and I like that his snack doesn't spike his blood sugar either. For him it's simply a smarter snack. For me it's a smarter snack that also keeps my morning fasting window going.
